Peter Jackson was twice named Magazine Editor of the Year. He edited Drive magazine, TVTimes (taking its circulation to four million a week), Sunday magazine and the Sunday Times magazine before becoming launch publisher of the UK edition of Elle and Sky magazine – and ultimately managing director of Rupert Murdoch’s European magazine operation, News International-Hachette.
In 1987, Peter set up his own magazine consultancy, Grayling Publishing Services, attracting clients from Australia, South Africa, Spain and Indonesia (where he won the 2007 Golden Yak Media Award for the re-launch of a magazine in Bali). Most of the major publishers in the UK make regular use of Peter’s services and he has undertaken major projects for the BBC and ITN.
Peter was Chairman of the judges for the PPA annual awards for a record four years. He now combines the roles of Chairman of Grayling with lecturing on Multi-Media Journalism and Communications & Media at Bournemouth University.
